Menu names can differ slightly between phone and browser versions.

How do I add the app to my home screen?

iPhone (Safari): tap the Share button, then “Add to Home Screen”.
Android (Chrome): tap the three dots at the top right, then “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”.

The icon sits next to your other apps. After the first launch it opens offline too.

I denied the microphone by mistake. What now?

iPhone (Safari): open the page menu in the address bar, go to “Website Settings” and set Microphone to “Allow”. Or: Settings › Apps › Safari › Microphone.
Android (Chrome): tap the icon to the left of the address, then “Permissions”, and turn on Microphone. Or: Chrome › Settings › Site settings › Microphone.

A grandchild or a friend only needs to do this once; the app won't ask again.

Where are my recordings?

Only on this phone, in the browser's database. They are never sent to us. Details: Privacy.

How do I delete recordings?

iPhone: Settings › Apps › Safari › Advanced › Website Data. Find this site and delete it. If you added the app to your home screen, remove the icon too.
Android (Chrome): Chrome › Settings › Site settings › All sites. Pick this site and tap “Delete data” or “Clear & reset”.

Deleted recordings can't be recovered. Use “Send to family” first for anything you want to keep.

Does the screen go dark while recording?

No. While recording, the app asks the phone to keep the screen on, so you can lean the phone against the counter while cooking.

Why don't I see a recipe card?

In the prototype, audio isn't transcribed inside the app yet, so your own recording has no card; you can play it back. The card comes once transcription is in the app.
