Göz Kararı Working title · prototype

From Idea to App Store · Season 1 · Oznex Studios

Grandma's recipe, in her own voice.

It records family recipes nobody ever measured, in the voice of the person who tells them. It turns “a water glass” into grams, and it never invents grams for “by eye”. The recipe is kept together with her voice.

We're building this app on YouTube and showing every step: idea, design, code, AI, app store. “Göz kararı” is Turkish for “by eye”.

Home screen: one huge microphone button labelled “Tell a recipe”, with previously told recipes below.

Recipe card: ingredients with gram ranges; an uncertain line is flagged in red.
Recipe card: grams as a range

Five steps. Grandma only does one: she talks.

Each step shows where it stands today. We don't pretend unfinished things are finished.

  1. Tell

One big button. No typing, no menus, no passwords. She talks while she cooks; the phone records.

  2. Understand

AI (Whisper) turns speech into text: 9 errors per 100 words on a clean recording.

  3. Measure

“2½ water glasses of flour” → 255–360 g. Weigh grandma's own glass once and the range narrows.

Measure engine ready · 9/9 tests
  4. Show the texture

Where she says “you'll know by the consistency”, add a photo or a short video.

  5. Keep

The recipe is kept with the teller's voice; family members join by invitation.

No install, no account, no password. Tap the link, and add it to your home screen if you like. It opens even offline. The interface follows your phone's language: Turkish, or English for everything else.

  • Your recordings stay only on your own phone. Audio is never sent to any server.
  • The microphone opens only while recording. Our own screen explains first, then the phone asks for permission.
  • This is a prototype: transcription and the recipe card aren't inside the app yet; recording and playback work.

We're looking for a 12-person test team.

Before a new personal developer account can publish an app, Google Play requires a closed test: at least 12 people, for 14 days in a row. We want to build that team with our viewers.

How do I join?

Email us at destek@oznex.com.tr with the subject “Test team”. Include the Google account email you use on your Android phone, and your phone model. Please don't post your address in YouTube comments. (What happens to this?)

  1. When the Android test version is ready, you'll get an invitation through Google Play.
  2. For 14 days, open the app now and then and record a recipe: with your grandma, your mum, or yourself.
  3. Tell us where you got stuck; we show the fixes in the episodes.

Questions

Why a “working title”?

The final name will be chosen after brand and store checks. The candidates: Göz Kararı (by eye), Elinin Tadı (her special touch), Aldığı Kadar (as much as it takes). Vote in the YouTube comments.

Is it free?

The prototype is free. Our plan: a free version with a limited number of recordings, and a paid family plan for the whole family.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, the prototype runs in the browser (Safari, Chrome). Store versions will be prepared for Google Play and the App Store.

Where does my voice go?

Nowhere, in the prototype. The recording stays in your phone's browser database. Details on the privacy page.

I have my own app idea.
